Celebrating its fifth birthday this year, the Scott Kirkbride Melanoma Research Centre's (SKMRC) annual fundraising luncheon and auction is back again for 2010 and this year Australian international cricketer and Suncorp Bank SunWise Ambassador Adam Gilchrist joins the event as a guest speaker.

The luncheon will be held on Friday July 23 at the Billy Walker Room at Subiaco Oval and tickets can be purchased online or by contacting Sarah Thoms on (08) 9224 0333.

The SKMRC is based at the Western Australian Institute for Medical Research (WAIMR) in Nedlands.

It was established in 2005 in memory of young Perth golfer, Scott Kirkbride, who lost his battle with melanoma in 2004 at the age of 27.

The SKMRC has been made possible through ongoing fundraising efforts by Scott's family and friends, as well as a generous commitment by the University of Western Australia (UWA) to match the funding dollar for dollar over five years.
