720 ABC Perth presenters Geoff Hutchison and Russell Woolf hit it off on the green last Tuesday, as part of the Scott Kirkbride Melanoma Research Centre's annual Charity Golf Day, which raised over $15,000 for the charity.

The pair joined more than 100 other enthusiastic golfers on course at the Wembley Golf Complex, to raise funds to help the Nedlands-based Centre, which is housed within the Western Australian Institute for Medical Research.

720 ABC Perth personality and qualified golf professional Andrew Wynne also took to the green again this year and Woolf broadcast his popular Drive program live from the event.

Once the 18 holes had been played, a fundraising dinner and auction hosted by Wynne and Hutchison gave keen bidders a chance to take home spectacular collectables including a box framed Nick O'Hern golf club.

All funds raised will go towards helping the Centre continue its research into the genetic and environmental causes of melanoma, one of the most deadly and prevalent forms of skin cancer.

WAIMR Director Peter Klinken said this year's event was a huge success which offered the Centre invaluable support.

"The golf day is a key part of our events calendar that contributes not only funds but fantastic partnerships from organisations like 720 ABC Perth, Wembley Golf Complex and the Town of Cambridge - and we are extremely grateful for their ongoing support," he said.

The SKMRC was established in March 2005 in memory of Scott Kirkbride, a young Mt Claremont golfer who died from melanoma at the age of 27, who also worked at the Wembley Golf Complex.
